Joan McConnell performed at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church


Joan and I enjoyed a couple of days at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where Joan presented a noon-time recital this afternoon. Joan presented an eclectic program, including a couple my pieces, settings of two American hymn tunes, Sojurner and Coronation. Afterwards, we enjoyed lunch with Robert Hobby, composer and Music Director at Trinity. He invited Dr. Fred Jackisch to join us; the first time that Joan and I had seen him since our Wittenberg days almost 40 years ago......we should all live to be as sharp as Fred is at the age of 92! We also found out that Dr. Jackisch designed the Schantz organ at First Lutheran here in Tiffin, and played the dedicatory concert as well. Small world......
